Hi students,
"Teacher! My add maths result is now a pass!"
"I got A for my Add Maths in my Ujian Awal Tahun!"
"I got 60 for my Add Maths, last year it was below 10!"
"I got B+ for my Physics! It was a G last year!"
"I got an A for my Chemistry!"
"I passed all my subjects.. "
these...as compared to the usual Gs.
Some even get A's for their Mod Maths and it took them by surprise that they can actually get an A since it has been G all the way in the previous year before they joined us.
There are those who never passed any of their sciences ( Chem, Physics, Bio) and managed to remain afloat!
What does this mean?
It means it is not impossible that students do well and get As in exams. Your last year's result was a manifestation of ignorance in acquiring knowledge. You have not put in your 100%.
How is this possible, that you managed to score a pass or even excel in these subjects you did not understand or once considered very tough?
Surely if you have done sufficient revision and also listen to your teachers and your parents' advices, you can already see some changes in your results. Of course after you worked hard, never forget to pray as hard.
For many parents, these are the things they would like to see in your SAP.
To be fair, credit must be given for the students' achievements to their parents' commitments to send their children to our centre which is located at a very "jammed" location especially at night. One must be very committed to drive out after returning from work despite their tiredness and making it to tuition centres to ensure the success of their children. To the students, it is also an effort to attend tuition classes after attending school and all the other school activities.
Credit must go to the school teachers too. This is one of the aspects that most students should never ignore, which is respecting their teachers. We always advice students to respect teachers regardless of how you and a particular teacher does not "click". It is common that we can be comfortable with a person and not with another. But being a student, you must know your position. Things can be much easier if you do.
During tuition, do not spend time whatsapping, selfie-ing and doing other stuff that can distract you from your lesson. It is fine to do all these after the session is over.As long as you don't over do any of those.
Do not waste your parents' money by attending tuition but not focusing during tuition sessions. We do not condone such act as it will be a waste of time and your results will definitely show if you have or have not concentrate. For most subjects, if you can study at home systematically and without supervision, you do not even need to attend extra tuition.
There are parents who are not keen to send their kids to tuition centres as they considered it a waste of money. However, this is a very subjective matter. Some students can do self-studying but not many can. And there are subjects that can be revised through self-study. Some need to be taught. Subjects which can be self-studied are mostly those which require readings and memorizing. But not many students enjoy reading!
One way to motivate reading. Remember the first sentence given to our Prophet is IQRA'
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-
Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:
Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-
Who taught (the use of) the pen,-
Taught man that which he knew not.
Surah Al-Alaq
So, why don't we make reading one of our hobbies. By reading you can gain a lot.
There are not many students that can discipline themselves or can afford to focus doing revisions by themselves. Learn the technique to actively read your books, as this is already part of doing your revisions. Subjects like Ekonomi Asas, Sejarah, Agama Islam, Perdagangan can be revised by going through what you have learnt in school. Do not waste time in classrooms.
Focus when your teachers are explaining the lessons at school and when your tutors are explaining in your tuition classes.. That way, you have lesser need to revise the particular subjects at home and spend more time on other subjects which require extra practices such as Maths, Add Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Science.
Time is something you can never get back. Do not waste your time. Remember.
"Demi masa. Sesungguhnya manusia itu benar-benar berada dalam kerugian. Kecuali orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal soleh dan saling menasihati supaya mentaati kebenaran dan saling menasihati supaya menetapi kesabaran” (QS. Al ‘Asr)
If you do all these, it is never too late to prove your worth. As our education system is about collecting A+s, take it as a challenge that you can get as many as the best students can.
Shoot for the stars, at least if you failed, you will land on the cloud.
Time is of the essence. Start doing your revision now especially for those sitting for your UPSR, PT3 and SPM. Never get complacent after you score in your Ujian Awal Tahun as your next hurdle is greater. Work consistently towards your goal. Keep the momentum.
